Who am I?
Professionally I am an information security and network infrastructure manager based in metro Detroit. I manage a skilled, diverse, customer oriented, and distributed global team of network engineers and security specialists in six countries supporting the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India, Asia, and China.
My background is primarily in information security. I earned and maintain my CISSP, GPEN, and CRISC certifications. I prefer working with open standards and tools but I’ve used closed source options as well.
I like striking that balance between security and usability. I strive for the confluence of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
I’ve supported many platforms over my educational and professional life – System V, *BSD, Solaris, AIX, Digital Unix & Compaq Tru64, OS/2, DOS, Windows, GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, Apple iOS, Google Android, Juniper ScreenOS, Cisco IOS, Cisco NX-OS, Juniper JunOS, as well as many, many others.
Personally I am a single father of two. I enjoy technology, travel, home brewing, music, micro-brew beers, cooking, books, wine, food, classic cocktails, photography, and movies.
